Happy Thanksgiving!

Well.. It's a little late, but we hope that you had a wonderful, and blessed Thanksgiving! We spent our time in the big city of Mertzon...eating, sleeping in, and doing not much of anything...it was great! Devin sat in the blind several times and finally got his FIRST deer! Yay for deer meat in the freezer and my dad's deer jerky on the way. Yum!

Only three weeks till Christmas break, very excited!! Can't wait to see more family and sleep past 6am :)!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

The stockings are hung by the chimney with care.... :)

Ok, I'll have to admit, my tree has been up since November 1st. I just cannot get enough of Christmas decorations. They make for such a warm, cozy home! Yes, I like Thanksgiving, but twinkle lights and glitter are so much more fun than anything else when it comes to decorating!
I am thankful for a husband who allows this part of me of to go a little crazy.. hehe.
My wreath, is all inspiration from my favorite new website, Pinterest (http://www.pinterest.com/). If you do not have an account to look through it, go get one! It is so much fun!!! Fair warning, time flies when you are looking around getting fun DIY projects, recipes, etc.!!

So whether you still have your pumpkins and fall leaves on your mantle, or snowmen, and red and green, I hope your holidays are warm, cozy and wonderful!!

11.11.11

Happy Veteran's Day!!!
So thankful to those who have served in the military or who are currently serving! We are so blessed to have brave me and women fighting for our freedom!! I am also blessed to have had both grandfathers who served in the military and the other family members who did as well.

We were able to go to Arlington Cemetery on our honeymoon and witness the Changing of the Guard. Such a humbling experience... Devin's favorite for sure!

Happy 11-11-11, also!! Me and Devin do the "11:11, make a wish" thing, so today is fun for us :)!

The First Four Months...

Time flies when you are having fun! Our jobs sure have kept us busy and on our toes to say the least, but we are so thankful for what we do!

Well, since our "Big Day", we have traveled a bit (Honeymoon on the East Coast!), laundry, watched our Rangers ALMOST win big, laundry, fixed all kinds of water issues in our duplex, laundry, attended too many funerals, held new life, and worked our tails off loving on kiddos at church and in my classroom.

We are getting pretty adjusted at this new life, but know that there will be something new everyday! Still trying to adjust to our life on the road though. We live halfway between our two jobs, and both have a 30min (give or take a few minutes) drive each way. I have never seen so many coyotes on and along the roads till this year, even ran over one.. oops! So things stay interesting! We still have a room full of boxes, and honestly, I don't expect that to change any time soon! BUT, our Christmas tree is up.... you heard me right.... and it's becoming more "Homey".

I was switched from a Social Studies teacher to a Science teacher after 3weeks of school, so I'm finally now getting the hang of something new. I feel like I study science more now than I did in high school or college! My kiddos are entertaining to say the least, but I enjoy them so much...especially when they want to listen to Christmas music while they work!! I can't believe that it is already the end of the 2nd 6 weeks, though!

Devin is staying super busy with his job right now. Football season has wrapped up, and basketball season is here, so things will not slow down for him. He is also working on his Boy's Ranch Christmas Project... and so far so good! Families are starting to shop for their sponsered kiddo, and we go shop for ours this weekend! I love buying Toys!

We are certainly blessed for each new day, for they are gifts from above!

One hot day in July...

Let's try and play catch up....
July 16, 2011
The day that two families became one.The day two best friends became husband and wife. The day God blessed two of His children with each other, to love and to cherish...Till Death Do Us Part!

I honestly, only remember bits and pieces of the day. It was such a fun, fast blur... I can't wait to see the video! Hehe!

We are so grateful for those who have loved and encouraged both us from day 1... and still do!

So here are some pictures (thanks to the wonderful Cattie Hall), because words cannot describe how amazing this day was... :)

A New Life...

Yesterday, God blessed some dear friends of ours with a HEALTHY, 8lb, sweet baby girl! We were able to go last night and love on her and the exhausted, happy new parents! Welcome to this world miss Riley Madewell! God has great things planned for you!
